Hydration and Spa Waters

Its so important to keep hydrated especially now with the summer heat.

Don’t forget that the following list of drinks that can dehydrate you and make sure to drink more if you include them in your day:

  • Caffeinated drinks like coffee (more than 2 cups/day)
  • Soft drinks
  • Alcohol

Why not try some of these spa water recipes to change it up and not get bored of water!  It’s very easy to make them since you simply need to put the ingredients in a water bottle or jug, fill it up with water and bring it to your workout, game/match or great to have at home to sip on all day or serve it up to guests while you are hosting a BBQ this summer.

Mojito:

  • my new favorite essential oil for the summer: LIME!  1 drop in a mason jar or you can do a couple if you are making a jug!  (you can use fresh lime but have to say that the lime essential oil goes everywhere with you on vacation and you don’t have to worry if it goes bad!)  You can always add the lime slices to make it look pretty!
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves (best if grown in your garden or in a pot on your balcony)

Oranges & Mint:

  • few slices of orange to make it look pretty (organic if possible)
  • my other favorite is: WILD ORANGE essential oil 1 drop in a mason jar or a couple in a jug
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves

Cucumber & Mint:

  • 4-5 slices of cucumber
  • 4-5 fresh mint leaves
  • feel free to add in blueberries or strawberries when in season

Citrus:

  • couple of slices of lime, orange and lemon
  • 1 drop of lime, wild orange and lemon essential oil

Other combos to try: watermelon/mint, lemon/lime, basil/orange or basil/mango….

As you can see from the above recipes, I am loving my mint plant that is growing in my backyard…so nice and fresh!  Feel free to be creative and play around with the fruit/herb/veggie combos for the spa waters.  What is your favorite combo?  Post a pic on the Studio Vie Facebook Page, Instagram or send it to me by email!

*Tip: Keep filling the water bottle or jug up with water all day and make sure to eat the fun ingredients when you are done with it!  To make it more fancy, try adding sparkling water to it.
