Vegan Cashew Nog

This vegan nog is becoming a tradition to serve the week before Christmas after class….but thought you might want to make a batch at home!


  • 1 cup of raw cashews (plus water to soak them overnight)
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 drop of cinnamon essential oil or 1-2 Tsp of cinnamon powder (to taste)
  • nutmeg to taste (a little goes a long way)
  • 1/4 tsp of vanilla powder (or you can use 1 tsp of vanilla extract)
  • 1-3 Tbs of maple syrup (to taste)

Soak the cashews in a mason jar or bowl for at least 1-2 hrs or overnight (especially if you don’t have a powerful blender like the vitamix or blentec for example).

Rince the cashews and pour them into your blender.  Add the 4 cups of water and blend until smooth.  Once the cashew milk is smooth, add the rest of the ingredients and blend thoroughly.

Let chill in the fridge and enjoy just like this or add in for xmas a little rhum 😉


  1. If you don’t have a powerful blender you can strain your milk through a nut milk bag or cheese cloth to make it even more smooth.  Once it’s ready then add in the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Feel free to use any plant based milk such as coconut milk, almond milk etc or any other milk you might prefer…
