Week 4 of the Smoothie Challenge

Banana Mocha Smoothie



3 bananas, cut into chunks 460 g
1/4 cup coffee (liquid) or any milk of your choice or water 65 mL
1/4 cup milk, partly skimmed, 2%, soymilk or any plant-based milk 65 mL
2 1/2 tsp cocoa powder 4 g
4 tsp almond butter 20 g
2 pitted dates 1 1/2 tbsp
1/2 tsp vanilla extract 2.5 mL
60 g soft/silken tofu 4 tbsp
1/2 cup water 125 mL

Before you start

A blender or food processor will be very useful for this recipe.


  1. Prepare a strong coffee (if you are not using coffee simply omit this part)
  2. Place the ingredients in a food processor or blender.
  3. Process on the highest speed until a well-blended purée forms, about 1-2 min, stopping to scrape down the sides of the container once or twice. Serve.
