My wrist update
It’s time for an update! For those of you who don’t know I have had 2 wrist surgeries called Ulnar Shortening Osteotomy. It’s been 10 months post right surgery and 4 months post left surgery! I’m still trying to plug away with my rehab exercises and stay positive throughout this whole process. I knew that I was going to have a tough and challenging year…
Focusing on my physio exercises, doing activities such as: paddle boarding (started slowly being able to do it!), modified workouts, walking, getting back to running & gardening!
My right wrist is pretty much functional. I havnt’t been able to get back to yoga or anything on my hands just because I need my left wrist to catch up first. I started hitting some tennis balls but it’s been slower than I expected. Trying to go slow and see how it feels by my 1 year post-surgery mark. The impact with the ball feels so-so with my metallic plate so let’s hope that gets better…
My left wrist is feeling good, still working on my range, it still feels a little stiff and working on my strength. It’s going faster than my right wrist, I think that’s because I know what to expect.
Thanks again to my physio’s Ming & Stephanie for your continued guidance! We are getting there but still have some work to do :)
